Board Members

Pilar Martin, MD, MPH.  Founder & Executive Director, She is an Assistant Professor in the College of Medicine – Division of Medicine and Society and College of Public  Health at Florida International University(Miami,FL.). She is a family physician with specialization in Preventive Medicine and Public Health . She  has  worked predominantly in the practice of public health in US, Spain, UK  and other  countries . She has been involved with Haiti for the last  4  years,  travelling there monthly.

Michael Melchior, MPH is a PhD student at Florida International University's Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work. His area of study is Health Promotion and Disease Prevention with an emphasis in program process and outcome evaluation. Michael has 6 years experience in the formation and daily management of non-profit organizations with both community and international involvement. For the past two years, Michael has been actively participating in activities in Haiti. 

Brian Kunkle, MPH is a PhD candidate at Florida International University, where his field of study is Environmental and Occupational Health.  His current projects include a study investigating the environmental causes of childhood brain tumors, and an epidemiological assessment for a community exposed to a hazardous waste site. He has served as grant writer for the South Florida Asthma Consortium, a non-profit charitable organization and has been participating in activities in Haiti over the past two years.
